Custom Embroidery, Printing & Transfers
Big Wight provides professional embroidery, screen printing and garment decoration for businesses, schools, clubs, teams, organisations and events.
We can supply and decorate a wide range of clothing, including polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, fleeces, sportswear, workwear, hi-vis clothing, bags and caps.
Whether you need branded workwear, school clothing, teamwear, event garments or promotional clothing, we can help you choose the most suitable decoration method for your garments, artwork, quantity and budget.
You do not need to know which print method is best before ordering or requesting a quote. Choose the garments you are interested in, upload your logo or artwork where required, add any details such as names, numbers or print positions, and we will advise the best option.
Requesting a Quote Online
For decorated clothing, many products on our website allow you to request a quote instead of placing a standard online order.
Simply choose the garments, colours, sizes and quantities you are interested in, then add them to your quote request. Where available, you can also upload your logo or artwork and add extra information such as embroidery positions, print positions, names, numbers or special instructions.
Once we receive your request, we will check the garments, artwork and decoration requirements before providing a quote.
This helps us recommend the right decoration method and ensures your order is priced correctly before production.
Uploading Logos and Artwork
Some products allow you to upload your logo or artwork directly on the product page. This helps us see what you need and advise on the most suitable decoration method.
For best results, please send the highest-quality artwork you have.
Useful file types include:
- EPS
- AI
- SVG
- High-resolution PNG
- High-resolution JPG
For printing, vector artwork is usually preferred where available. For embroidery, your logo may need to be converted into an embroidery file before it can be stitched.
If your artwork is not suitable, we will let you know before production.
Our Decoration Methods
We offer a range of professional embroidery and print methods, each suited to different garments, designs and order types.
Embroidery
Embroidery gives a smart, professional and long-lasting finish. It is ideal for logos, names and crests on workwear, uniforms, schoolwear, club clothing and teamwear.
Embroidery works particularly well on polo shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, jackets, softshells, caps, bags and many types of workwear.
For logo embroidery, your design usually needs to be converted into an embroidery file before it can be stitched. This is often called digitising or origination. Once your logo has been set up, it can normally be used again for future orders.
Best for: business uniforms, schoolwear, club clothing, polo shirts, jackets, fleeces, caps and premium branded garments.
Screen Printing
Screen printing is a durable print method that is ideal for bold designs on t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and event clothing.
It can be very cost-effective for larger runs, but it can also work well for smaller quantities when the design is simple, particularly single-colour prints.
Screen printing gives a strong, professional finish and is a good choice when you need a long-lasting print across multiple garments. The cost depends on the quantity, number of print colours, print positions and artwork supplied.
Best for: t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, event clothing, club clothing, workwear and bold single or multi-colour designs.
Heat Transfer Vinyl
Heat Transfer Vinyl, often known as HTV, is a professional heat-applied vinyl print method used for names, numbers, simple logos and graphics.
It is commonly used for sportswear, teamwear, staff names, player numbers, sponsor logos and small-batch personalisation. It works best for simpler designs rather than very detailed full-colour artwork.
Heat Transfer Vinyl is a practical option when garments need individual names or numbers, or when a clean, simple print finish is required.
Best for: names, numbers, simple logos, sportswear, teamwear, staff roles, sponsor prints and individual personalisation within a larger order.
Premium Heat Transfers
Premium Heat Transfers are a high-quality heat-applied print option for vibrant, durable garment decoration.
They are different from standard Heat Transfer Vinyl and DTF Transfers, and are often a good choice when a strong, professional print finish is needed across a range of suitable garments.
This method works well for logos, sponsor prints, workwear, sportswear, teamwear, hoodies, t-shirts and branded clothing. Different transfer types can be used depending on the garment fabric, artwork and required finish.
Best for: durable logos, sponsor prints, workwear, teamwear, sportswear, hoodies, t-shirts and branded clothing.
DTF Transfers
DTF Transfers are a modern full-colour print method suitable for detailed artwork, multi-colour logos and designs with fine detail.
They are useful when a design has too many colours for standard vinyl, or when screen printing is not the most practical option for the quantity or artwork.
DTF Transfers can be a good option for smaller branded clothing runs, detailed sponsor logos and full-colour designs where a flexible print method is required.
Best for: full-colour logos, detailed designs, multi-colour artwork, sponsor prints and smaller branded clothing runs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I request a quote?
Choose the products you are interested in, select the colours, sizes and quantities, then add them to your quote request. Where available, you can upload your logo or artwork and add decoration details before submitting the request.
Can I upload my logo online?
Yes, on suitable products you will be able to upload your logo or artwork directly on the product page. If you are unsure whether your file is suitable, send us the best version you have and we will advise.
Is embroidery or printing better?
It depends on the garment, design and quantity. Embroidery is usually best for smart logos, uniforms and premium workwear. Printing is often better for larger designs, detailed artwork, full-colour logos or lightweight garments.
What is the best method for names and numbers?
Heat Transfer Vinyl is commonly used for names, numbers, staff roles and player numbers. It gives a clean finish and is suitable for many sportswear and teamwear applications.
Can you print full-colour logos?
Yes. Full-colour logos may be suitable for DTF Transfers, Premium Heat Transfers or screen printing, depending on the artwork, garment and quantity.
Is screen printing only for large orders?
No. Screen printing is often very cost-effective for larger runs, but it can also work well for smaller quantities when the design is simple, especially single-colour prints.
Do you print one-off t-shirts?
Our service is mainly aimed at businesses, schools, clubs, teams, organisations and group orders. We may be able to help with smaller orders depending on the garment, artwork and decoration method, but we are not generally set up for single one-off gift or novelty t-shirt orders.
Will I see a proof before production?
Where required, yes. We will send a proof for approval before production so you can check the design, position and details.
Are there set-up charges?
There may be set-up charges depending on the decoration method. Embroidery usually requires logo digitising, and screen printing may involve screen set-up costs. We will explain any set-up costs when quoting.
Can you help me choose the right garment?
Yes. We can advise on suitable garments for workwear, schoolwear, sportswear, teamwear, events and promotional clothing.
